Nordic Apartment
The project idea by interior designer Irina Simonyan Sokolova, makes possible the meeting between pure Italian design and Scandinavian style, combining modernity, comfort, and natural materials within the spaciousness that characterizes the penthouse apartment.
Each room is conceived following the client’s innovative stylistic choice, furnishing every space with iconic pieces capable of celebrating and blending the two styles.
The leitmotif consists of the dialogue between materials, natural colors, and organic shapes that dominate the living area, where the Maralunga sofa of Cassina and Paul by Molteni & C meet the soft forms and fabrics of armchairs designed by Urquiola and natural marble coffee tables from the Nordic brand Menu Space and the distinctly Italian brand Cassina.
The Bayus TV cabinet by Porada in canaletto walnut and natural leather respects the client’s wishes, adapting the elegance of the piece to the concept of the entire space.
Like the living area, the dining table also pays homage to the blend of materials and styles by choosing the harmonious contrast between the soft shapes of the leather Belt suspension lamp and the straight lines of the wooden chairs by Fritz Hansen and the Cassina head chairs.
Completing the original fusion of research, innovation, and design classics throughout the living space are the seats present in the study and bedroom, emblems of Nordic and Italian styles: the dynamic Le Corbusier LC4 by Cassina, upholstered in pony skin, is iconic and modern and accompanies the refined and essential furnishings of the Spanish Chair by Fredericia and the Little Petra armchair (designed in 1938 by Viggo Boesen) in perfect dialogue with the organic Cicognino side table by Cassina.
